A cathedral dedicated to San Pedro.
Closely linked to the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and Romanesque architecture that infiltrated Aragon through Somport and made its way towards Jaca.
Originating in the 6th century, under the reign of Sancho Ramírez. Considered to be one of the most important monuments of Spanish Romanesque art, closely linked to the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. It was built on a basilica plan, with three apses, aligned with the three naves. In the 15th century new chapels were built, the choir-stalls, and the roof was repaired. The Romanesque look of the temple disappeared at the height of the Renaissance, during restoration work carried out in the 16th and 17th centuries.
