Murcia

How would you like a holiday playing golf and enjoying a range of completely natural beauty treatments? If this sounds good to you, then come to Spain. In Murcia, as well as excellent golf courses, you’ll also find a huge open-air spa resort: the Mar Menor.

You’ll find the Region of Murcia washed by the waters of the Mediterranean, in south-eastern Spain. Its mild weather means you can play golf here almost all year round. What’s more this destination offers the chance to enjoy an enticing holiday combination of sports, health and beauty, either on your own or with friends or family. Visit any of the region’s spa resorts or the Mar Menor area, and experience all the beneficial properties of their mud treatments and medicinal, mineral-rich waters. You’re bound to want to come back.

There are a variety of golf clubs for you to play your favourite sport, very close to the Region’s two main cities, Murcia and Cartagena. You’ll find excellent facilities, immaculately maintained and up to the highest standards. There’s guaranteed fun for everyone, with challenging courses requiring precision golfing at each stroke, or gentler layouts which are ideal for novices.

Good sensations

There are several golf courses within 15 minutes’ drive of the regional capital, Murcia, such as the Mosa Golf Club, whose characteristics and design make this one of Europe’s number-one courses, and the Altorreal Golf Club in the town of Molina de Segura. After a few hours on the green, a good option is to rest and relax at the Archena spa resort or at the Fortuna-Leana spa, some 30 kilometres outside the city of Murcia.

Less than 25 kilometres from Cartagena there are other places to play golf: the Torre-Pacheco club in the town of the same name, with the only floodlit course on the Mediterranean; the La Manga Club, with its three 18-hole courses, in Los Belones; and the Hacienda del Álamo club, in Fuente Álamo. An après-sport suggestion: right next door, you’ll find La Manga del Mar Menor, a beautiful nature area where you can give yourself a real treat –its famous mud is extremely good for the skin. Whether you opt for a mud bath on the beach or at one of the treatment centres in the area, you’ll love the results. Don’t think twice and bring your golf clubs to Murcia. You’ll feel good for a whole variety of different reasons.
