Relics of Arab history.
This gate is all that remains of the Royal Citadel of Ciudad Real.
It dates from the 14th century. It has 6 arches (the 2 exterior ones are ogival and the 4 interior ones horseshoe shaped).It has 2 square towers, one each side of the arches, and the coat of arms of Castile can still be seen on the walls.
