The FICMA, Catalonia International Festival of Environmental Film, has been held in the town of Gavá (Barcelona province), since 1994.

The event aims to bring these two forms of art together: film and environment. On one side, film is the art of expression using images and sound; on the other, the environment is the natural ensemble that surrounds us, and is therefore the art of life. A series of films on the subject of our natural surroundings compete for the Soles de Oro (golden suns) awards.
