Christmas is a magical time for both adults and children. It's probably one of the most special times of the year to go on a family trip. As Christmas is a time for giving, why not give your family the best gift – a trip to Spain? The children will have a great time if you take them to see the traditional Three Kings Parade on 5 January, or if you treat them to a delicious "roscón" (Epiphany cake) which has a surprise inside. If you want to get the year off to a good start, in Spain you have to eat twelve grapes in time with the striking of the clock at midnight on 31 December. Apparently they are "lucky" grapes!

Christmas sweets and pastries are delicious! Enough to make your mouth water. You mustn't leave without trying "roscón", marzipan and "turrón".

Why not visit a "turrón" museum? The most famous one is probably the one in Jijona (in Alicante, on the Mediterranean coast). The best thing about it is that visitors can sample the "turrón" at the end!

There are three kings: Melchior, Gaspar and Balthasar. After the spectacular parade on 5 January in the evening, they are in charge of bringing presents to the children. But only if they've been good, of course!

This event has been celebrated since 1885 and is the oldest Three Kings parade in Spain. Another great excuse to travel to Alicante with the little ones!
