Pájara has beautiful beaches backed by tourist housing developments.
Pájara is one of the biggest districts on the Canary Islands. The majority of its population works in the tourist sector, although the more traditional stockfarming is another of the activities which sustains the local economy.
Featuring prominently in the Pájara district are several examples of Canary Islands popular architecture, such as the church of Nuestra Señora de Regla and the hermitage of San Antonio, built in the 18th century in the village of Toto.
