Tourist trains
An original option to see Spain by train is the so-called tourist train. Here is information on some of them:
The "Transcantábrico" : A train "cruise" through the north of Spain. From Santiago de Compostela (Galicia) to León (Castile-León).
The La Robla express offers tours through northern Spain in a period train
Al-Ándalus Train: A “palace” on rails – for discovering Andalusia on a luxury train.
There are also one-day tourist train routes, such as:
The strawberry train: a pleasant family excursion in the Region of Madrid, on a historic train that takes you as far as Aranjuez.
Sóller Train: an early 20th-century train that covers inland Majorca (Balearic Islands).
Cervantes Train: a literary train journey to Alcalá de Henares, the town where the author of Don Quixote was born.
