San Sebastián, a city made for strolling
Spain is alive with fiestas, and summer is a good time to enjoy celebrations such as the Sanfermines bull running event, the Zancos de Anguiano stilt-dancing festival, the Descent of the River Sella, Malaga Fair or the horse races on the beach at Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
Monte Igueldo de San Sebastián
The whole of San Sebastián oozes elegance and beauty. The secret for discovering its charms is to wander through its streets, parks and avenues. Strolling along its various promenades is a pleasure not to be missed. With the Bay of Biscay always in the background, you will come upon the Zurriola Beach, the avant-garde Kursaal, the port and the famous La Concha Beach. Continuing through the tunnel under the Miramar Palace, you will come to the promenade along the Ondarreta Beach and Chillida’s famous Wind Comb.
As you reach the Kursaal, you will see the unusual lamp-posts on the Zurriola Bridge. If you cross to the other side, you will come to the city centre and the old part of Donostia-San Sebastián, where you can enjoy the squares and elegant buildings such as City Hall, Provincial Hall, the Victoria Eugenia Theatre and the María Cristina Hotel.
