The privileged location of the Canary Islands makes it an ideal place where all kinds of tourists are welcome all year round. As well as its beaches and excellent climate there are a whole range of activities which offer visitors the chance to enjoy the unique natural setting.
Toys on the beach
In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria you will spend restful days on the beach with your loved ones. For example on the Las Canteras Beach, where at low tide the water is particularly calm and ideal for small children because a barrier of rocks protects the shore from the currents. Close by, you’ll find the Museum of Science and Technology where you can spend the whole day. As it's a hands-on museum, your children will learn as they have fun doing experiments.
The city also offers several very pleasant parks for spending a morning or afternoon and enjoying the spring climate of the Canary Islands as your children play. The San Telmo, Santa Catalina and Doramas are all excellent parks. At the Doramas Park you’ll also find the “Pueblo Canario” (Canaries Village), a small space offering a display of the typical architecture and handicrafts practised on the islands. If you go on a Sunday morning, the whole family can enjoy the live folk music and theatre.
