Medina del Campo, in Valladolid, organises bull-running during its festivities in honour of the patron saint, in September.
Traditional bull-running takes place during the festivities in honour of San Antolín, and the streets are filled with fun and music. The bulls are taken from the countryside to the town entrance, and there the young men run in front of the bulls through the streets of Medina del Campo. The races are very exciting to watch. During the festivities, there are three types of traditional bull-running: on horseback in the countryside, on foot in the town, and bullfights and cortes (bull-running) competition in the bullring. Traditional bull-running has been taking place since 1490.
