Alcances, the Atlantic Film Festival, was first held in 1968 in the city of Cadiz.

Apart from the official section of Spanish shorts, European, Latin American and Asian films are also projected, and there are parallel activities such as exhibitions, contemporary music performances, theatre and seminars, as well as tributes and film sessions dedicated to important figures of international cinema.
