It is a modern town to the west of La Palma, surrounded by farm land.

Los Llanos de Aridane has wonderful coves and beaches, such as Puerto Naos, Las Monjas and Charco Verde, which represent one of its main tourist attractions. The town centre also has places of interest, such as the church of Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios, which contains an image of the Virgin from the 16th century.

In the area around town, on the mouth of the Angustias ravine, stands another interesting church, the sanctuary of Las Angustias. It was built in the 16th century and inside it contains a Flemish carving of the Virgin.
