The municipality of Boborás is in the northeast of the province of Ourense. It is part of the region of O Carballiño. It stands on a wonderful site, from where you can visit vineyards, forests and meadows.

The municipality became an important place from a historical point of view during the Middle Ages, when many military and religious orders took over the area, like the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, the Order of the Knights Templar and the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. They all left a mark in the architecture of that period, both civil and religious.
