Description

A constant in the work of the Italian artist Rosa Barba is the contextualisation of her interventions in their architectural setting. This means that “Solar Flux Recordings” is a project designed specifically for Madrid’s Palacio de Cristal.

The works of Rosa Barba, a visual artist and film-maker based in Berlin, combine media like film, sculpture, installations and written texts to permit the contradiction and irony of a conceptual universe that outpaces reality. For her intervention “Solar Flux Recordings” at the Palacio de Cristal, Barba considered how the natural light falls in a given place at a given time. The movements of the sun were recorded using steel grids. The artist also created a replica of part of the building. . The Italian Institute of Culture in Madrid is a partner in the exhibition.
