Summer route Sierra Nevada: Las Suertes de Fuente Alta

This walk enables you to take a step back in time and see how life was for Sierra Nevada inhabitants by walking past some old, traditional farmhouses. You will see a clear example of this with the Suerte de Fuente Alta, situated 700 metres from the beginning of the route. Amidst this paradise, visitors can have a rest during the walk and enjoy the fabulous views of the surrounding forest at the foothills of the Pico del Veleta, to the south-east. The walk covers areas of mainly dense conifer forest (containing Scots pines and black pines) that has been reforested. It is interspersed with open pastures that coincide with the location of old farmhouses (Suerte de Zangarria, Suerte del Tomate, Suerte del Visuejo, and more). Medium difficulty, minimum four people.
