The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao traces the artistic response to World War II and the Nazi occupation in France.
Art rebelled against the climate of oppression in France with an aesthetic that ultimately modified its own evolution. This exhibition reveals this "war of art on war" through over 500 works by some one hundred leading artists, including Georges Braque, Jean Dubuffet, Alberto Giacometti, Vassily Kandinsky and Pablo Picasso, among others.
