The park is located in a built-up area, a large area pressed against the edge of the mountains. It is set on the site of an old stone quarry. It has a large, shallow pool that serves to mirror a wonderful sculpture by Chillida, an original interpretation of the ancient myth of Narcissus, called “Eulogy to Water”. It weighs more than 54 tons and was created “in situ”. Its mould was removed right where it is to this day, suspended above the water by four strong cables allowing for slight but perceptible oscillation. It is worth heading up to the top of the park where you can get an overview of the whole site, with palm trees placed as landmarks or columns that mark out an imaginary spatial rhythm.
