Melilla, a city made for adventure
- Autonomous region: Melilla
Melilla is a paradise for adventure lovers, thanks to the wide range of routes available so you can discover its spectacular natural resources. One excursion not to be missed is a visit to Mount Gurugú, designated a Nature Reserve, where you can see the colony of Barbary monkeys. There are spectacular views from the summit over the city and the lagoon known as the “Mar Chica”, or “little sea”.
If you like the sea, you’ll have a great time renting a waterbike or water-skis to ply the warm waters of the Mediterranean. The pleasant temperature is perfect for enjoying a dive down to the rocky bottoms, teeming with life, along this Mediterranean coast. You may even be as lucky as the underwater fishermen who found the remains of an old 17th or 18th-century galleon. And if you’ve still got any energy left, you can take one of the camel or 4x4 excursions which depart from Melilla.
