This is one of the most famous animal parks in the Canary Islands, and has the largest collection of parrots in the world.
It was founded in 1972 as a refuge for parrots and has since become one of the Canary Islands foremost tourist attractions. It covers an area of 135,000 m² and features an aquarium and the space entitled Naturavision, as well as a wide variety of animals such as dolphins, sea lions, gorillas, chimpanzees, penguins and killer whales.
It is also home to a realistic reproduction of various natural habitats, with original spaces such as 'Planet Penguin', housing an iceberg with over 200 penguins. Loro Parque also offers the chance to enjoy shows such as 'OrcaOcean', where visitors can watch performances by killer whales, and to stroll on paths through lush vegetation where you can see birds from all over the world.
One of its latest attractions is 'Katandra Treetops', a journey to Australia featuring bridges suspended from the treetops and paths through the jungle where you can see a range of exotic birds.
