Art throughout the ages
A journey through history, from the Palaeolithic period to the present day.
The museum has two buildings in the city of León: the main building, in the 'Pallarés' building, and its monumental annex or historic site in the convent of San Marcos. It also has an archaeological annex few kilometres away –the Roman village of Navatejera, in the municipal district of Villaquilambre. The museum's collection explores all the historic periods of human activity in León, from the Palaeolithic to modern times, and particular highlights include exhibits on the Romanisation process and the Middle Ages, as well as its collections of coins and inscriptions.
