An emigrant’s journey
The house that is the site of the Indias Archive was built by the emigrant Íñigo Noriega in 1906. The building is a clear example of colonial architecture from the Indies, and visitors can make a journey emulating that of emigrants. The museum content can therefore be divided according the different stages of this journey: from the documentation necessary in order to emigrate, to posters from shipping companies, boarding passes, images of crossings and shipwrecks, and photographs of some of the protagonists of Spanish exile in Mexico.
