Wine-related accommodation is an original way to enjoy wine tourism in Spain. These are hotel establishments located at vineyards and wineries, where not only can you sleep with all the creature comforts, but you will also be able to take a first hand look at how wine is produced. They are often in particularly charming locations, set in rustic farmhouses and restored old wineries with beautifully designed décor.

Peace and quiet is guaranteed because these places usually have only a few rooms. Another attraction is the beauty of the views: when you look out of the window in the morning you will see an idyllic landscape of vines. Can you think of a better way to get up? From south to north…

In the Region of Andalusia, southern Spain, the Marco de Jerez wine and brandy route awaits you. One of the establishments you can stay at is in the town of Jerez de la Frontera. It is Hotel Los Jándalos, set in an old winery building, and it also has a spa. Just 15 kilometres away, in the town of El Puerto de Santa María, is Hotel Bodega Real, whose facilities maintain the architectural beauty of the original winery building.

To the northeast, in Catalonia, you will find the Penedés wine and cava route. Here, within the province of Barcelona, you can stay at Can Comas, a medieval country house that is part of a vineyard in the Torrelavit area. It can sleep up to 5 people and it is in a stunning setting, beside a river surrounded by woods. Another option is the cosy Can Bonastre, in the village of Masquefa, at the foot of the Montserrat Mountains.

If you would prefer to do the Navarre wine route, then head for Hotel Jakue in the town of Puente la Reina, on the itinerary of the famous Way of Saint James. While in Galicia, on the Rías Baixas wine route, you can try the benefits of wine therapy at the Augusta Spa Resort, Carlos I and Oca Galatea hotels, all in the town of Sanxenxo (Pontevedra province). A different option is to stay at Pazo A Capitana, in Cambados. This stately house dates from the beginning of the 15th century and has been restored to offer a full range of comfortable facilities. Its old winery will give you the chance to see how traditional techniques are combined with the most modern technology to produce Albariño wine.

Should you decide to travel to the Canary Islands, then in Tenerife you will find the The Tenerife Wine Route. For your stay you could choose El Adelantado Country House Lodge, a typical Canaries house from the 18th century, close to the sea and surrounded by vineyards, where you will have the chance to take part in vine cultivation.
