Two Spanish companies in the list of the most punctual companies: Iberia in seventh place in the world and Binter in first
This summer the main international airlines reduced the average punctuality rate, operating 75.21% of their flights within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, a percentage that is just below the 75.85% achieved in June. Nevertheless, two Spanish airlines stand out in the rankings issued by FlightStats, the portal specialising in following up operations in the industry: Iberia and BinterCanarias. Iberia took seventh place in the world ranking of the main airlines with 88.1% of their flights on time; while BinterCanarias is at the top of the European ranking; the only airline in the world that is 100% punctual. The proportion of cancellations remained relatively stable, at 1.31% compared to 1.39% the previous month. Only three of the main international operators operated over 90% of their flights on time: Gulf Air, Tyrolean Airways and South African Airways. The average punctuality among European airlines is 83.37%, improving the rate of 81.01% recorded in June. Cancellations were also significantly reduced to 0.57% from 1.38% the previous month.
