The church was built between the 12th and 14th centuries, with elements from the Romanesque and Gothic styles. It has a single, very big nave, with a transept and triple sanctuary. The nave is divided into two portions, the roof is supported on polygonal pillars attached with cylindrical mouldings, topped with capitals decorated with plants, animal, and human themes. The exterior of the church is of regular, stone stalls. The building is surrounded by crenelated towers, of which only the towers of Cuatro Vientos and los Picos are still standing.
