Exhibition: Esteban Lisa. Retornos
Works in the exhibition 'Esteban Lisa. Retornos' © Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE)
This exhibition pays homage to the figure of Esteban Lisa and displays some 120 of his works to highlight his distinctively personal plastic language.
The painter, who lived practically his whole life in Argentina despite his Spanish roots, followed a career that was totally independent of the artistic movements of his generation. The exhibition features drawings, books and photographs made between the 1930s and the 1970s, and offers an overview of his plastic production and his dedication to philosophy with themes such as aesthetic theory, modern science and ethics.
