This path starts from the chapel of Santa Eulalia, located to the south east of Aracena. Next to the chapel is one of the oldest bullrings in Andalusia.
The path passes through the urban quarter of Alájar, a pretty village that spreads out at the foot of the Peña de Arias Montano crag, the name of which is owed to the confessor of Felipe II and translator of the Polyglot Bible, who retired here next to the Chapel of La Virgen de los Ángeles.
The banks of the River Alájar form a beautiful gorge covered with old mills.
It then reaches the locality of Fuenteheridos, the urban quarter of which was declared a Historic-Artistic group of buildings thanks to its beautiful whitewashed houses with their curved tiles and its limestone cobbled streets. The beautiful Doce Caños Fountain, the 18th century marble cross, the Inn and the Parish church must also be noted.
The drop to Las Buervas follows a beautiful old cobbled path.
The village of Cortelazor, next on the path, is noteworthy for its prized honey and its 16th century parish church.Further on, the path enters the solitude of the Sierra de Hinojales, reaching the village of the same name where the late 15th century gothic style parish church is worth a look.
The path stretches further until it reaches the GR 48. Most of the path runs within the Natural Park of La Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche, with plenty of holm oak and cork oak.
