Santa María de Cardet is one of the Romanesque churches in the Boí Valley, which received the UNESCO World Heritage designation in 2000.
The church has a single nave, covered with a row of four cross vaults. The sanctuary ends in a semi-cylindrical apse. Its arches are decorated with sculptures, serrated designs and pilaster bands. Outside, the steeple with its bell tower is its most outstanding feature. The church was built to adapt to the difference in level where the crypt was built. The crypt is formed by one short nave.
