In honour of San Ignacio de Loyola.
This Baroque Basilica has a wonderful dome of 24 metres in diameter.
Work of the famous Italian architect Carlo Fontana. It was inaugurated in 1738. It is baroque in style, with a circular floor plan and a 65 metre-high dome. A few metres from the Basilica you can visit the old Loyola House-Tower, where San Ignacio was born in 1491.
