The Picasso Museum in Barcelona presents its first major monographic exhibition on Picasso's self-portraits.
Picasso used the self-portrait to project his thoughts and obsessions, to experiment with form, as a witness events in his biography… The period covered by this artistic genius is some 78 years, from his earliest childhood (1984) until shortly before his death (1972). The exhibition focuses particularly on the traditional self-portrait, but does not neglect the other more subtle derivations of this genre.
