A town of Moorish origin with beautiful architecture

This town, of Moorish origin, is the largest in the area. Outstanding buildings in the historic centre are: San Juan Bautista Church (16th century); Santa María la Mayor Church, in Mudejar style, previously a mosque; the Municipal Palace (16th century); the Moorish fortress (13th century) with its defensive walls. The "Torre del Homenaje" (keep) of the castle can also still be seen. Be sure to try some local fried fish.
