The historic town of Garachico was once Tenerife's main port.
Now, along with Buenavista and Los Silos, known as the “low island”, it forms a wonderful place full of monuments and buildings of artistic interest, such as the churches of Santa Ana and Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, the convents of San Francisco and Santo Domingo, and the castle of San Miguel.
A good time to come and see the town is during the San Roque festivals, declared to be of National Tourist Interest and which are celebrated with a popular pilgrimage.
