This town seems to be a part of a different island.

The district of La Frontera is made up of Valle del Golfo and the western end of the island. This area is separated from the rest by mountain sides of more than 1,000 metres. Agriculture is more prosperous here than on the rest of the island, with the cultivation of fruit trees, vines and, more recently, tropical pineapples.

Frontera is the capital of this region, where you can appreciate the quality of Hierro's produce, outstanding among which are pineapple, cheesecake and, very especially, the excellent wines and delicious smoked cheeses.
