The Castell de Perelada winery was founded in 1923 when Miquel Mateu bought Perelada castle. Since then, the Sunqué Mateu family has been developing the Perelada Group, one of the main wine and Cava sparkling wine producers, with wineries in Perelada and Vilafranca del Penedès.
