There are 11 cycling routes in this area: one sets out from the fishing village of Bermeo, another from Gernika-Lumo, two from the village of Errigoiti, and the rest from the Mendata Visitor Centre. At these locations you can hire bikes and they will give you all the necessary information, along with details about the route and places you can visit on the way.

Make the most of a departure from Gernika-Lumo to visit the Peace Park, home to sculptures by Eduardo Chillida and Henry Moore, or to visit the Gernika Peace Museum Foundation. The easiest route leaves from here, running alongside the Mundaka River.
If you prefer an intermediate level itinerary, there is a circular route from Errigoiti, stopping at the fishing village of Bermeo. Here you can enjoy the maritime atmosphere and visit Ercilla Tower, which has the Cultural Property designation and is currently home to the Fisherman's Museum.
The more daring can test their level. Head for the Mendata Visitor Centre and pedal out towards the Oiz Wind Farm. The effort will be rewarded at the end of the route where the Bizkaia viewpoint awaits, with stunning views.
