Golden age (16th-17th century) theatre is back with a vengeance come the summer. This time of year sees the enthusiastic celebration of the International Classical Theatre Festival in the town of Almagro, Castile-La Mancha Region. Just 25 kilometres from Ciudad Real and 200 from Madrid, in the heart of the Region of Castile-La Mancha, you will find Almagro. For a month it comes alive with the International Classical Theatre Festival – a real point of reference in the cultural panorama of Spain.

Some of the most emblematic spots in Almagro, such as the Corral de Comedias Theatre, are the setting for works by universal playwrights like Miguel de Cervantes, Shakespeare and Molière, amongst others.
