This coffee liqueur dates back to the first half of the 19th century, when the residents of the town of Alcoy started to drink it as an aperitif.
It is a coffee-coloured watery liqueur, between 15 and 45% alcohol, although it normally doesn't exceed 17. Nowadays it is used to make cocktails. When combined with cola it is called "Plis-Play", and with lemon crushed ice it is called "Mentira". Both these drinks are very original.
