Autonomous region:

An Arab castle, Mudejar and Gothic homes, and a mosque that is older than the one in Cordoba, are part of the historic quarter of Almonaster la Real, declared a Cultural Object. The town is located at the heart of the Sierra de Aracena Nature Reserve, and Picos de Aroche, one of the most important protected spaces in Andalusia, which takes up all the northern region of Huelva. The city centre stretches at the foot of a 16th-century castle that was declared a Cultural Object, and the church-mosque of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción. Among its most interesting monuments we must point out the 15th-century hermitage of Santa Eulalia de Mérida, built on top of a Roman temple and declared a National Monument because of its beautiful frescoes depicting scenes from the life of Saint James the Apostle, as well as the Gothic-Mudejar parish church of San Martín, from the 14th-16th centuries, with a Manuelline main front.
