The museum is close to the city's Roman theatre and amphitheatre.
The Mérida National Museum of Roman Art, designed by prestigious architect Rafael Moneo, was inaugurated in 1986. Inside you will find objects from the time of Roman civilisation, a vital period in the history of this city, responsible for the theatre and the Mitreo Roman house, amongst others.
