Description

The Reina Sofía National Art Museum in Madrid presents this major retrospective of the work of Richard Hamilton, a Pop Art pioneer and prophet of Postmodernism.

The exhibition features more than 260 artworks that display the variety of media, techniques and genres that characterised the British artist's production. Hamilton is considered to be one of the founders of Pop Art and the main precursor of other later trends such as Appropriation art.

This is the last retrospective exhibition in which Hamilton was involved directly, just before he died in 2011.
