Description

The exhibition explores the favourite and most popular subject of this artist: the sea. This is a delightful way to take a closer look at his way of analysing "the natural" and his use of colour. It is also a chance for visitors to experience for themselves the numerous hours that the artist from Valencia spent beside the sea, until it evolved into one of his greatest sources of inspiration.

The exhibition consists mainly of paintings, with some "colour notes" –small panels or cards with Sorolla's notes, and which are key to understanding his working method. The exhibition is divided into three sections: 'The never-ending spectacle', 'The hours of blue' and 'From nature to painting'. A genuine feast for the eyes.
