Easter Week in Seville a unique spectacle
Easter Week in Seville is the perfect time to discover how the city celebrates one of its most traditional fiestas, and to celebrate it yourself by calling at a few bars - they stay open all night for this special occasion. During Easter Week you'll be able to get to know people by joining the "bulla", the huge crowds that gather to watch the processions, and to get lost on the narrow streets in the old town.
The most exciting part is the “Madrugá”, the long night between Thursday and Friday that recalls the Passion of Christ. That night, Seville stays awake and young people take the opportunity to go out and watch the spectacle of the “costaleros” carrying the religious sculptures. If you want to experience it to the full, take to the streets around 1am, watch the black-garbed brotherhoods and stay awake until dawn.
