There is a place in Santiago with special charm. This is the Mercado de Abastos (general produce market) in the old part of the city. Visit this building, more than a century old. Here, seafood, fish, meat, vegetables, wines and spirits are displayed like real works of art. The best produce of Galicia is available to all at this market. Furthermore, in Rúa Nova, the heart of the old town, you will find the open air street market: it is the hippy market. It opens every day, 10am-8.30pm, and you will find costume jewellery and leather crafts.
