Asturias is in the north of Spain, and there are various transport options to get to the region.

By air

Asturias airport is situated in the town of Castrillón, and has excellent access to the main destinations in the region: 14 kilometres to Avilés, 40 kilometres to Gijón, and 47 kilometres to Oviedo. At this international airport you will find flights operated by Air-Berlin, Air Europa, Easyjet, Iberia, Iberlworld, Spanair, Vueling, Air Nostrum and Air-France.

By train

There are daily rail services between the Spanish capital, Madrid, and the two main cities of Asturias, Gijón and Oviedo. The journey takes roughly 6-7 hours.

By road

Asturias has a good network of roads and motorways that provide communications between this region and the rest of Spain. To get from Madrid to Oviedo (445 kilometres) and Gijón (475 kilometres), take the A-6 (Autovía del Noroeste) motorway, and, at Benavente, in the province of Zamora, join the A-66 (Autopista de la Plata) motorway.
