Bus services in Spain run to more than 170 destinations in a maximum journey time of 12 hours - there are a host of companies operating buses over the 16,000+ kilometres of motorways to be found throughout the country. Practically all of Spain's provinces are connected to Madrid, where there are two major bus stations (Avenida de América and Estación del Sur) providing services to a great number of cities, with departures approximately every hour. Barcelona also has excellent connections with the rest of the country. Sus estaciones principales son la de Sants y la del Paseo de Gracia. Many stations offer airport connection services. Use Movelia's search engine for detailed information on the routes, fares and timetables of the different companies. Here you can also reserve your ticket and get discounts for your journey. Remember that tickets must be bought in advance and cannot be purchased on the bus. As a guide, we provide the approximate length of some of the routes from Madrid to major tourist destinations.
