It is one of the main beaches in Aguilas, with its promenade lined with palm trees, open-air bars, restaurants and other facilities, like disabled access and a lifeguard service. There are rocks at both ends, which means it is more sheltered. At one end of the beach there is a small craggy rock, upon which the Castle of San Juan de las Águilas stands.
