More than just sculpture and painting
The museum is situated in Espartero Palace, an 18th-century Baroque construction.
La Rioja Museum offers a continuous journey through the history of La Rioja from the Palaeolithic until the mid-20th century, with the material culture that the inhabitants have left over the centuries. It exhibits paintings and sculptures from the 12th-19th centuries, as well as objects in ivory and silver. There is a section dedicated to ethnography, and another to contemporary art. Its most highly prized pieces include the San Millán panels from the 14th century.
