Situated in a high part of Valle, near the city of Verín. Built in the 12th century by Alfonso Henríquez. It had enormous importance in the times of Pedro I the Cruel. In the 16th century it was used by Felipe el Hermoso to meet Cardinal Cisneros. It is built of stone in regular blocks. From the outside, the two towers - the Lady Tower and the Keep, built by Sancho Sánchez de Ulloa in 1482 - are outstanding.
