This example of the transitional Romanesque style has a floor plan with a single nave, covered with a barrel vault. Its most interesting element is the southern facade known as the “Puerta del Perdón”, or “the door of forgiveness”. Its origins date from 1186, as this was the time at which the Bishop of Astorga obtained a papal bull which authorised the building of a church.
