The Church of Santa María is in the old town. It has an open plan with three naves and a flat-sided sanctuary. The three naves are the same height, separated by columns and covered by Renaissance vaults made by Juan Martínez de Arrona in the 16^th century. The square cloister has three sections, covered by Gothic fan vaulting. Highlights in the interior include the remarkable 17^th-century altarpiece of Santa María la Real by Pedro de Alotis. The tower stands out at the foot of the church outside.
