The Church of Santa María is in the old town. It has an open plan with three naves and a flat-sided sanctuary. The three naves are the same height, separated by columns and covered by Renaissance vaults made by Juan Martínez de Arrona in the 16th century. The square cloister has three sections, covered by Gothic fan vaulting. Highlights in the interior include the remarkable 17th-century altarpiece of Santa María la Real by Pedro de Alotis. The tower stands out at the foot of the church outside.
