This could be the most representative example of typical Galician manor house architecture – a noteworthy site both for its architecture and botany. Its origins date back to the 13th century, but much of what is visible today is fruit of the transformation the property underwent in the mid-18th century, when the beautiful gardens surrounding the house were designed. Here, water is a vital element, used with mastery. It is stored in two large ponds where there is an unusual islet in the form of a boat, sculpted in stone with the figures of two sailors.
